About The Old Jet Brothers French Sauternes Barrel Finish
In 1881, James Jett joined his three brothers Joseph, George, and Albert to establish a distillery located at the confluence of Kentucky and Ohio Rivers near Carrollton, Kentucky. The Jett Brothers Distilling Co. Mashed 248 bushels per day, yielding 20 full barrels of Kentucky Bourbon. Unfortunately, the Jett Brothers Distillery did not survive Prohibition.
What remains of the original distillery is located about 10 miles from my current distillery, and as such much of the terroir influence that was found in the Jet Brothers Bourbon is also found in the taste profile of my bourbon.
About Wenzel Toasted Barrel Proof Bourbon
Traditionally aged bourbon that we added to brand new Kelvin Toasted barrels. 111.8 proof. Bold oak, clove, toffee, and pepper flowing into caramel and vanilla on the nose. Heavy oak and coffee are the main players here that bleed perfectly into a rich nuttiness that ends with a soft subtle finish.
